Services
I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCS21789) who provides psychotherapy to both adolescents and adults. I have extensive experience in treating depression, and I have a specialty in treating anxiety, panic attacks, phobias, unwanted thoughts, and repetitive behaviors. I am direct and honest with my clients, and I focus on practical ways to solve problems. I also use humor as a powerful ally in helping people analyze and change their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I primarily use Cognitive-Behavior Therapy (CBT), but I use other therapy approaches as well. An important aspect of psychotherapy of course involves me listening carefully to the client and offering both support and insight. However, therapy also involves collaborative problem solving where my clients and I work together to solve life problems. It further includes education and strategies so that my clients becomes better equipped to address their challenges, manage any symptoms, and pursue greater happiness.
During therapy I help clients to recognize emotions, express them in a healthy way, and adapt to challenges in their lives. The goals of psychotherapy include improved relationships, increased ability to manage emotions, enhanced enjoyment of life, and improved ability to achieve goals. I am a firm believer that as therapy progresses, my clients should be able to identify progress from our work together.
Prior to your first therapy session you will need to read and complete a consent for treatment form. You may find the form on my website (click here) and complete it at your leisure.
